Simulations, calculations, modelling, CAD

Benefit from +10 years of professional simulation and modelling experience at Intel with main focus on static and transient temperature predictions in various systems. Analytical models, thermal R-C compact models and CFD simulations were utilized to develop efficient cooling solutions for major mobile phone and automotive customers to prevent thermal run-away, which was honored by several division recognition awards. Working with CAD tools (AutoCAD etc) and occasional thermo-/mechanical simulations were other parts of my professional experience at Infineon and Intel.

Simulation tools: FloTHERM, ANSYS Mechanical APDL, IcePak, Abaqus, Ansys Workbench

Programming, scripting, automation, machine learning

Programming has been a hobby of mine since school and always been part of my professional tasks. For more than 20 years, Python is my favorite solution for scripting and automation, in particular under Linux (which runs on my private computers for more than 20 years). Apart from Python, my programming projects at Intel have included VB-Excel, Matlab, Java (depending on what was required) - for small internal tools, mainly for thermal. In my final, internally awarded Python project at Intel, a machine-learning based tool for fast estimation of reliability was developed. For this and other small tools, I designed user interfaces based on HTML/CSS/Javascript utilizing template engines. My beginnings with web design reach back to my time at school, when I even had some commercial customers (among those, RFC - Regensburg Fine Chemicals, former Heyden). For private and profession version control I use Git.

IT competencies: Python, HTML/CSS/Javascript, Cheetah/Jinja2, Matlab, VB Excel/.NET, Java, C++, Git, Linux

Lectures, work shops, trainings

At university, as well as at the company, or as lecturer at OTH Regensburg: my activities up to now always included preparing and giving concise and comprehensive presentations on various physical topics. As part of my work at Infineon, I compiled training material and held trainings for future users of a new software, also on site in Singapore and Melaka (Malaysia).
